The winger Vinicius Jr. will not be able to play for Real Madrid this week in their Champions League game away at Liverpool because of a leg injury.
Real said in a statement that Vinicius has “an injury to the biceps femoris in his left leg.”
After Real said that, Vinicius wrote, “Crazy calendar.” It’s time to heal.
A story from The Athletic says Vinicius will likely be out for three weeks.
Vinicius played the whole 3-0 La Liga win for Real away at Leganes on Sunday.
But he will now have to sit out for a while. He might also miss the league games against Getafe, Athletic Bilbao, and Girona coming up, and he might not be able to play in the December 10 Champions League match against Atalanta.
Vinicius has continued to make a big difference this season. He has played 18 games and scored 12 goals while setting up 8 others.
Real has had a rough start to the Champions League season. They are currently 18th in the table.
Carlo Ancelotti’s team beat Borussia Dortmund and Stuttgart at home but lost to Lille on the road and to AC Milan at home.
Liverpool is currently in first place in the table, having won all four of their games so far.
Real still doesn’t have Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, or Eder Militao because they have been hurt for a long time.
Besides that, Rodrygo, Lucas Vazquez, and Aurelien Tchouameni have been having short-term issues.
