The great play of Real Madrid forward Brahim Diaz for Morocco has continued to amaze. On Monday, in a 7-0 win over Lesotho in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers, he got his first hat-trick as a senior.
This showing came just a few days after he scored twice in a quick three-minute span in a 5-1 win over Gabon.
In the fifth minute, Brahim scored the first goal against Lesotho. In the fifteenth minute, he scored again to make it 2-0. In the 42nd minute, he scored his third goal.
Important for MoroccoBrahim’s play was a big part of Morocco’s win, and even after he was taken off in the 62nd minute, it was clear that he had made a difference.
Brahim has scored seven goals and set up two others in just eight games for Morocco—six official games and two friendlies. This makes him the top scorer in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
This is even more amazing when you consider that he missed the last international break because he hurt a muscle.
The forward for Real Madrid, who now plays for Morocco and wears the number 10 shirt, has been in great shape. Rodrygo is currently out with an illness, but the young player’s play has made him an even more important player for both Real Madrid and Morocco.
The next La Liga game is on Sunday against Leganes, and Carlo Ancelotti may now think about playing him.
If the coach chooses a 4-3-3 system, Vinicius Jr., Kylian Mbappe, and Brahim could all play together as an attacking trio. Brahim is in great shape right now and looks like he will be an important player for both his country and his club.
The Moroccan has played a supporting part so far this season, coming on for only 254 minutes across all competitions. Interestingly, 131 of those 254 minutes have been played while sitting on the bench.
With a play like this, Brahim is sending Ancelotti a subtle message before important fixtures get crowded.
