A huge image of Jude Bellingham and another of Lionel Messi are shown at the Adidas concession in this expansive fan area in Doha. Some others questioned whether the marketing team hadn’t gotten ahead of themselves before the event started.

He was a journeyman non-league striker before to that.Jude, his mother, and younger brother Jobe spent windy, muddy afternoons watching his father play football at football locations from Southend to Sutton Coldfield.Jude shared a photo of his bald father holding him as he left the field prior to a Catholic United game in Southend, Essex.Southend is where I was born. In the Midland League Division Two, Mark scored 700 goals for Paget Rangers in 2016. He was 40 years old at the time. The record, which was reached in about 850 games, began with a goal for East Thurrock United in 1994.He played for about 15 different teams, such as Bromsgrove Rovers and Stourbridge, but he said he was “not very good!”The English player talked about his dad: “I used to watch him play all the time. That’s how I got interested in football.”“My game shows that toughness and being gritty when you need to be in a non-league setting. I think that comes from watching my dad play, even though he never tackled!”Jude made his move to Dortmund with Denise when he was 17. They shared a room when Jude signed for Dortmund.

Jude cuddles with his mother, Denise.Twitter is credited. In May of last year, he stated: “My mother manages me every day and takes care of almost everything for me.” She keeps me grounded and level-headed, which is what matters most.Jude Victor William Bellingham was born in June 2003, and his football career started on a patch of grass outside the family’s Hagley, West Midlands, house, close to Stourbridge.Gary Hackett, a former winger for West Bromwich Albion who went on to coach Mark Bellingham at Stourbridge, recalls Jude and Jobe playing in a nearby park.He recalled: “You could tell they were passionate about football because they would be running and kicking a ball even if they weren’t participating in the session.”It was evident that they were innately talented athletes. They possessed good technical skills and were able to run.Jobe and Jude played cricket as well.At age 11, Jude showed incredible talent, according to Hagley Cricket Club coach Fady Jadayel. He was a natural athlete. He moved with a grace and ease that is hard to describe without coming across as strange. He possessed incredible coordination.Football would eventually win the lads over to cricket. At the age of seven, Jude joined Birmingham City’s pre-academy. Mike Dodds, a former mentor and academy manager, recalled: “He was really just like any other boy at under-sevens.”He was clearly incredibly talented, but he wasn’t the erratic, generational artist that people now call him.”He wasn’t really enamored with the game, and he wasn’t the best in his age group. Although we admired him, we would have thought he was insane if someone had predicted that he would be in the England squad at the age of 17.Jude, then 12 years old, and Dodds had a talk in 2015 that would influence his young charge’s future.”Grace and poise””I think you have the ability to play all areas of midfield,” he stated, “so sitting midfield was a No4 and No8 was a box to box, and No was a scorer and creator,” he remarked. When we totaled all of those figures, the result was 22. We therefore determined that to be his number.Jude, wearing number 22 on the back of his Blues shirt, sprinted out to play Portsmouth in the Carabao Cup on August 6, 2019.He was the youngest player to ever play for Birmingham City’s first team, at 16 years and 38 days.Despite earning £145 per week and playing 43 more games for City that season, his dazzling skills were not suited for the Championship.Manchester United was sniffing around shortly after. However, it is difficult for young people to make an impression on Premiership Big Six teams.Borussia Dortmund of Germany, who offered a £25 million contract and have a history of spotting young potential, like England’s Jadon Sancho, piqued Dad Mark’s interest. When Birmingham retired the No. 22 shirt worn by a youngster on just 44 times, some thought they were being a little theatrical, but they were proven to be right on the money. He was 17 years and 113 days old when he faced Italy’s Lazio in October 2020, making him the youngest Englishman to start a Champions League game.Gareth Southgate called a month later.Jude made his England debut at Wembley as a substitute against the Republic of Ireland whilst sporting his favorite No. 22 shirt. After Wayne Rooney and Theo Walcott, he was the third-youngest full international for England at the age of 17.136 days.”You can’t help but marvel at the performance of a boy that age,” Southgate remarked following his maiden England start, against Austria in June 2021. Perhaps calling him a boy at the age of 17 is a little harsh, and he plays like a man.

Former academy coach Dodds credits Jude’s close-knit family with nurturing his stellar career.
He said: “They’re so consistent and the bond they have is so strong it’s made him very humble and incredibly focused. He’s so driven to be the very best and such a strong family bond is almost the perfect storm.”
Brother Jobe, 17, is following his trajectory, making his debut for Birmingham last year.
Last week Mark handed in his West Midlands Police warrant card, tweeting: “As of midnight I became a civilian after 24+ years service. Cops ain’t perfect but they’re trying their best under difficult circumstances. If we can show kindness to each other, we have a chance.”
In his prime, Mark earned around £200 a week from football.
Jude earns around £50,000 a week with Dortmund, but could more than triple that with a move to an English or Spanish giant.
His opportunities off the field also appear limitless.
So far he has used his new-found fame to fundraise for a school in Kenya.
But despite being showered with adulation and riches, Jude is quick to remember those windswept days watching his dad on the muddy playing fields of England.
He may be billed opposite Messi but it’s the hotshot non-league striker Mark Bellingham who he calls his “first footballing hero”.
