£85M BAIT: Real Madrid Set to Tempt Liverpool in Bold Move to Snare Trent Alexander-Arnold!

According to reports, Real Madrid is willing to hold out a carrot in front of Liverpool in an attempt to convince the Reds to let go of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

According to reports from the Spanish news source Sport, the Champions League holders may expedite the planned transfer to January in light of Dani Carvajal’s knee ligament injury rather than waiting for the 26-year-old’s contract at Anfield to expire next summer in order to sign him on a free transfer. Even though James Pearce dismissed the rumors, given another claim that has surfaced, the Iberian presses aren’t holding out for any more ink.

Real Madrid proposing player-plus-cash deal

According to one Spanish outlet, Real Madrid have been preparing a paltry bid of around €25m (£20.9m) for Trent in January, but in the knowledge that such a figure won’t be able to sway Liverpool, they’re willing to throw in Aurelien Tchouameni in a prospective cash-plus-player deal.

The French midfielder – who joined from Monaco in a €100m (£85m) transfer in 2022 (Marca) – is considered disposable due to the nature of his recent performances, but Los Blancos have emphatically ruled out offering Rodrygo as bait to try and land the Reds’ vice-captain.

Real Madrid, good luck with that one. There is absolutely no way in hell that Liverpool would agree to take Trent and just over £20 million for a player as important as him, even when they take into account their attempts to sign Tchouameni two and a half years ago before he chose to move with Real Madrid.

If the Bernabeu management is considering such a move, they would need to have some guts to attempt scaring their Anfield counterparts into taking such a lowball offer for our number 66, who is a vital component of the LFC machinery.

As we have stated numerous times in recent weeks, let’s hope that the 26-year-old and his hometown club can quickly agree on a contract extension so that we can finally put an end to the discussion and doubt around his future and focus only on his on-field accomplishments. We would proceed cautiously when interpreting these most recent news from Spain. After all, it’s an international break that falls outside of the transfer window.
