Harry Maguire, a defender for Manchester United, is said to have been given a four-figure fine after being caught speeding.
The Sun says Maguire, 31, broke the law while driving his black Land Rover on the A616 near his home city of Sheffield on the afternoon of March 7. He was caught going 68mph in a 60mph zone.
Given that Maguire pleaded guilty to the charge right away, he did not have to go to court.

Harry Maguire has been fined after he was caught speeding in his Land Rover in March
On Monday, his case was heard at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court. He was given a £670 fine, a £268 victim surcharge, and £90 in legal fees. All together, the bill came to £1,208. On top of that, Maguire got three more points on his licence.
The England player was caught speeding just two days before United beat Everton 2-0 at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
The Man United star pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay the four-figure fine by a court on Monday
He had also missed United’s last two games because of an illness, and Mail Sport said at the time that he was trying to push through the pain to play in the Premier League match.
He didn’t make the matchday team, but he did play against Brazil during the international break the next week. He then came back to play for United at the end of March.
Maguire then hurt a muscle in early May and missed the last few weeks of the season. He was then ruled out of Euro 2024.
Later, he said that time was the “toughest moment of my career” because he wasn’t playing when United won the FA Cup or when England made it to the Euros final but lost to Spain.
Maguire has been with United for all of their games this season and led the team to a 7-0 win over Barnsley in the Carabao Cup last week.
However, he has not started in United’s last three league games because Erik ten Hag prefers the centre back pairing of Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez.
