THOUSANDS OF DISTANCES: Coleen Rooney opens up on Wayne feud as Man United legend coaches team more than 250 miles away

COLEEN Rooney has talked about how hard it is to keep the romance alive in her long-distance relationship with Wayne Rooney, her football boss husband.

They are both 38 years old and have been together for 22 years. They have four sons together: Kai, 14, Klay, 11, Kit, 8, and Cass, 6. However, they live on different sides of the country right now.

Wayne is the manager of Plymouth Argyle, which is 250 miles away from his family’s home in Chester. He used to play for England and Manchester United.

Before that, he lived in Washington, DC, in the US. Having him back in the UK is great for the family, but since he lives in the South, he’s not often at home.

Coleen told The Mirror, “It’s good that we see him a few times a week.”

“We talk on FaceTime a lot, and he always calls before we leave in the morning.” “Just wait until we get in the car,” I tell them. “I don’t have time.”

After Wayne got his new job, the mum and business owner thought about moving to Devon, but decided not to because all of their boys are under 15.

Kai, the oldest boy, is starting to prepare for his GCSEs and is getting used to school.

Coleen said: “Other couples and families have similar situations and have to get on with it.”

She jokes that her husband is one of her “five boys,” but she laughed off the idea that she sends him care packages to make sure he eats well.

Coleen said that “no matter what,” they should always try to “make time for each other.”

“We’ve always done that and I think that’s what has kept a good ongoing relationship.”

But she laughed and said that they are “past” making romantic moves when they see each other again.

Coleen was only 16 years old when she became famous because she was in love with Wayne since they were kids. Wayne became famous as a young football star at Everton.

After quickly getting caps for England, he made a big-money move to Manchester United when he was 18. There, he did very well under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson, who was boss at the time.

Coleen had to grow up quickly because she and Wayne have been through a lot that everyone can see over the years.

She even got into a strange multimillion-pound court case with fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy, which was called “Wagatha Christie.”

Coleen won her case, but she didn’t make a big deal out of it. Instead, she went home to her family and told them she’s “lucky” that she can handle stress so well.

Brighton, who are currently in first place in the Championship, beat Wayne’s Plymouth 1-0 today in a very close game.

But last weekend, he was thrilled when they got their first league win against high-flying Sunderland, beating them 3-2 in extra time.
