On Tuesday, Endrick scored Real Madrid’s first Champions League goal at the age of 18.
He scored with a shot from outside the box in the last few seconds of Madrid’s 3-1 win over Stuttgart at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. He is 18 years old and from Brazil.
His age of 18 years and 58 days beat that of Raúl González, who scored a hat trick in Madrid’s 6-1 win over Ferencvárosi in 1995. González was 18 years and 113 days old at the time.
Endrick came into the game in the 80th minute to take over for Jude Bellingham.
His goal came after a run that began in the Madrid defense. The young player ran for a long time and could have fed Kylian Mbappé or Vinícius Júnior, but he chose to shoot low with his left foot instead. Stuttgart’s goalie Alexander Nübel tried to stop the ball from going in, but he failed.
“I had passed the ball to Vini the first time, but then I felt that the best option was to take the shot and it went in,” he said.
Brazil’s player scored his first goal in the Champions League, and he went to celebrate with the crowd behind the goal.
Rodrygo, Endrick’s partner from Brazil, made fun of the fact that Endrick “was crazy” to take that shot.
Rodrygo said, “He did something that no one else would have done.” “I’m happy for him, it’s always special to score in the Champions League.”
The Madrid custodian Thibaut Courtois said Endrick had “a lot of confidence” to take the shot, but he also joked, “I would have killed him if he had failed.”
Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, said that Endrick “had a lot of guts to take the shot.”
Endrick scored his second goal since coming to Madrid from Palmeiras in Brazil this season. The first one was on his first game for Real Madrid in the Spanish league.
