The Brazilian FA (CBF) said on Thursday that Real Madrid center-back Eder Militão had to leave their training camp because he hurt his leg before their South America World Cup qualification games against Ecuador and Paraguay.

“Defender Eder Militao complained of muscle pain in his right thigh after training on Wednesday and after medical exams carried out on Thursday, it was identified a small muscle injury in his right thigh,” CBF said in a report.
“The player has been ruled out of Brazil’s next two qualifying matches and CBF expresses its solidarity with the player at this time and wishes him a speedy recovery.”
Militao, 26, missed most of last season because of a torn ACL. He is the latest Real Madrid player to get hurt at the start of the season.
Due to injuries, they got in Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Real Betis on Sunday, midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni and left-back Ferland Mendy left France’s camp before their Nations League games against Italy and Belgium.
In the past few weeks, midfielders Eduardo Camavinga, Dani Ceballos, and Jude Bellingham have also been hurt. Defender David Alaba is still healing from an ACL tear he got last season. Fernando Kallas did the reporting, and Ed Osmond edited it.
