There are six Real Madrid players on the Ballon d’Or. Among them are Bellingham, Mbappe, Vinicius, and a few others.
These are the contenders for the 2024 Ballon d’Or. It is hardly shocking that Real Madrid is at the top of the list.
Actually, several Real Madrid players have been nominated for this prestigious award, which will be given out for the first time in association with France Football and UEFA.
As was to be expected, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr. are among the favourites to take home the best individual football prize.
On the other hand, Federico Valverde and Toni Kroos—the well-known Real Madrid player who declared his retirement this summer—are two of the Top 30 candidates.
Dani Carvajal made the list because he had an incredible season, winning trophies with both Real Madrid and the Spanish national team. It’s unknown who the winner is.
The list also includes Kylian Mbappe and Antonio Rudiger, two recent team additions competing for the Ballon d’Or in 2024.
Mbappe had a great season with PSG in France, but they lost in the European Championship semi-finals, and France just made it to the final four.
They will go up against elite Manchester City players like Rodri, Phil Foden, Ruben Dias, and Erling Haaland.
Veteran Granit Xhaka of Bayer Leverkusen has also been nominated for an award following a tremendous season with the squad.
Goalkeeper Emi Martinez, who plays for both Aston Villa and Argentina, is also a contender. In addition to La Albiceleste, he was the Copa America champion and the Premier League’s fourth place finisher.
Another contender for the award is Nico Williams, an Athletic Club winger from Spain who participated in both the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Euro 2024.
Dani Olmo, who just joined Barcelona, and Florian Wirtz, who Real Madrid is vying for, are also on the list.
