Following the announcement of the 30 candidates on the shortlist for the 2024 Golden Ball by the organisers, Rodrygo took the initiative on his own page.
The 2024 Ballon d’Or award organisers, France Football, formally revealed the shortlist of 30 contenders for the honour early on September 5. Interestingly, Rodrygo’s name was omitted.
Rodrygo took the lead after the aforementioned list was made public by posting a narrative with pictures that seemed to suggest that his name was not among the 2024 Ballon d’Or candidates, which was completely ridiculous. The three main trophies Rodrygo and Real Madrid won last season—La Liga, the Spanish King’s Cup, and the Champions League—are seen in the picture he shared. There was also a picture of Rodrygo competing against an opponent on the pitch, showcasing his hard work.
His successful efforts were depicted by the image of him celebrating, the image of him spreading his arms to indicate confusion, and the smiling face icon.
Following the announcement of the 30 nominees for the 2024 Ballon d’Or, Rodrygo posted on social media that he was bewildered.
Rodrygo scored 5 goals and 3 assists in the Champions League last season, including 3 crucial goals in the quarterfinals against Man City and the semifinals against Bayern Munich. He also contributed 10 goals and 5 assists to Real Madrid’s La Liga triumph.
Vinicius, Jude Bellingham, Rodri, and Kylian Mbappe have all been named in the prior Golden Ball race. Rodrygo might not be a contender for the 2024 Golden Ball trophy, but based on his accomplishments, he merits a spot on the shortlist of 30 candidates.
Another fan expressed dissatisfaction at Rodrygo’s lack of a nomination, saying, “Rodrygo deserves a place in the 30-man shortlist, he’s being treated unfairly.” “I have a message for the Ballon d’Or organisers that Rodrygo deserves to be in the 30-man shortlist,” retorted a different person. To be honest, he has had a better season than ten of the guys on that shortlist.
Not
In addition to Rodrygo, a number of contentious big names are absent from the list, including Lewandowski, Mohamed Salah, and Kevin de Bruyne.
