OLD MEMORY: Former Man Utd team-mates Cristiano Ronaldo and Rio Ferdinand laugh as they reminisce about seeing ‘Nani cry

Cristiano Ronaldo and Rio Ferdinand couldn’t help but laugh as they talked about the time they saw Nani cry.

For two seasons, they played with the winger, who played for Manchester United from 2007 to 2015.

But they seem to have criticised the Portuguese forward for how he acts when his team loses and for sometimes crying, like he did when United lost 3-1 to Liverpool at Anfield in 2011.

“Do you remember when Nani used to cry?” Ferdinand asked while he was on Ronaldo’s YouTube account. “We’d slap him.”

Next, Ronaldo laughed out loud and said to his old Portugal teammate, “Nani, yes.”

Then Ferdinand said Nani wasn’t the only one who got upset when things didn’t go United’s way.

“He used to cry, man,” the 45-year-old said. Also Anderson, who is flipping hell.”

He agreed with a smile and said, “Yes, yes.”

Nani, who is finishing up his career with Estrela Amadora in his home country, played 230 times for United.

Fourty goals, some of which were truly amazing, were made by him for Manchester United.

Like a lot of other people, Ferdinand was amazed by Nani’s skills and his ability to hit the ball.

But he can’t quite figure out why the winger never lived up to his full promise.

He said, “Nani is the first player I’ve ever seen hit the ball so cleanly with both feet, with so much power and so hard.”

“His sheer power was crazy.” Nani didn’t drink a lot, which is something I thought he lacked. He was a good worker.

“But there was something that stopped him from having ultimate consistency.”

Man Utd's Nani taught Cristiano Ronaldo skills

“He could take five shots, and two could be on target, two could be way off, or two could come close,” the retired defender said.

It was hard for him to be consistent like [Wayne] Rooney or Ronaldo, which is what put him behind.

“Pure ability wise, I’d take that and give someone else’s mindset [to Nani].”

The two also made jokes about Ronaldo’s record for most goals scored, with the Portuguese player making fun of Pele’s achievements.
