Scott McTominay is almost done with his planned move from Manchester United to Napoli. This could make it possible for Manchester United to sign Manuel Ugarte from PSG.
The 27-year-old has played all of his club games at Old Trafford. He began going to United School when he was five years old.
In other words, he is one of the “homegrown” players on United’s current Premier League team.
McTominay, on the other hand, is almost ready to leave United for Napoli after the two teams talked for a long time. The Scottish person is now making plans to leave.
Mail Sport has learnt that Napoli will buy McTominay for about £26 million. He has filled in for someone else in all three of United’s games this season.
The Athletic also said that the deal has a “sell-on clause” that would let United get a cut of McTominay’s next transfer fee if Napoli sold him.
McTominay’s last game for United was last Saturday, when they lost 2-1 at Brighton. Another defender from Scotland, Bill Gilmour, played in that game as well.
Napoli has also been linked with Gilmour this summer, but McTominay is said to have recently become the Italian club’s top middle target.
Last season, Napoli placed 10th in Serie A. The year before, they won the championship.
Rafa Marin, Alessandro Buongiorno, David Neres, and Leonardo Spinazzola have all been signed since then.
Romelu Lukaku, a striker for Chelsea, is also almost done with his move to Naples.
If United sell McTominay, they should have more room and money to go after Manuel Ugarte, a defender for Paris Saint-Germain.
The first two games of the new Ligue 1 season for PSG did not have Ugarte in them because he has made it clear that he wants to join United.
